They don't deliver but they do take orders that you can pick up at their location
This little hole-in-the-wall is a must visit for any Thai lover. The food is perfectly spicy and freshly cooked right next to you. The space is small and the service is not extravagant but the food is so amazing. Often during dinner hour, you would be better off ordering to-go because the line builds and it can be a formidable wait. The tom yum was tangy and warm and would highly recommend. Cash ONLY. Small tables (2-3 max). Authentic.
Great price!Great atmosphere!Tasty food.Can get a bit spicy!
10 years ago I came to Thai Tom the first time, recommended by my friend as ‘the best Thai in Seattle’. She’s absolutely right! Their slightly burnt Pad Thai gets its own place in my taste buds - very addictive. Oh something else that’s cute about the restaurant - the staff give no damn about pleasing the customers - straight to the point, take it or leave it ;)
My favorite restaurants in U district now. Please try Tom yam if you like Tom yam! Also curry is good too.
Got panang curry chicken. Seasoning is really good but only got tiny few pieces of chicken for $10+ food. Only take cash. Didn’t even get receipt.
Food is a bit sweet but flavour wise, everything else is very delicious and they are serious with their chili (yums). The place is a bit small but it's cozy - I love the vibe. We sat at the bar and it was really cool to watch the chef cook. We'd be coming back to try the other dishes!
You can't not sit at the bar here. It's an island trip on your senses - as you watch each dish being prepared over a flaming stove, hear the oils sizzle in their pans, breathe in the chilis and peppers as they meld together, and finally, taste the sum of the chef's masterwork. That, and probably a bit of his sweat, blood, and tears. Hats off to the staff, they never stop.
Hands down the best Thai eatary in Seattle. No nonsense ambience. Great service. Consistently good food. Satisfaction guaranteed.
Pad thai was too much fried. Felt more like fast food rather than authentic thai food
Food here is totally disaster .I only gave two star for this people are hard workers .I ordered five spicy which is the top level of spicy ,but it taste like a joke!Pad thai and tom yum sweet as hell, this definitely not a real Thai food , here is American Thai food!
Tiny place, but excellent food! Their spice scale is accurate, 4 and 5 are very spicy. Even though it is always quite busy, it is fun to watch the food be prepared as you wait.
Thai Tom is one of the Emerald City’s most treasured gems. Something magical happens as you sit at the counter and watch the flames burn while the Tom Kah coconut soup and Phad Thai 🥥 are prepared before your very eyes. There is always a line outside of the door for a reason.
Chicken pad thai is 98% noodle with tiny bits of chicken, green onion, and bean sprouts. It's a shame because the seasoning is nice and they do use high fire woks to achieve that slight char taste. They also only take cash (and now that I think about it, I never got a receipt..!) There are better tasting and better value Thai restaurants in Seattle.
Super tasty Thai food! There's usually a wait but worth it!
Cash only. AMAZING thai food at a reasonable price point. Accessibility would be an issue for someone with limited mobility or who uses aids such as a wheelchair. There is often quite a wait but it is well worth it. If you’re looking to avoid the wait, or just want to eat at home, you can call your order in for pickup, I’ve done this many times and it’s always worked out great! Their time estimates are usually quite accurate.
Best Thai restaurant on a budget in Seattle. This place is always crowded. They have an open kitchen. However, they only accept cash and do not take reservations online. Also, no online delivery. Quiet old school like. Food tastes amazing and is authentic. The place is however a bit small and might feel congested. The service staff is kind and they offer fork. The food portion size is perfect. You can also see the chef cook your dish.
After moving to east side, we had been planning to spend one Friday a month in Seattle downtown. We kicked-off the plan with Thai Tom. This place is a hole in the wall but make sure to try them out.We were a party of 6 and reached the restaurant around 6pm. We had to wait 15 minutes to get seated on the cooking counter (which was rather pleasant considering the cold weather outside)We had a mix of vegetarians and non-vegetarians in our group. Our order was taken even before we were seated. I ordered the Rama swimming chicken curry and the rally loved my food.We paid close to $100 with tips and taxes for 7 entrees. Remember to take cash when you visit this place, they don't accept credit card.
In a small, unassuming store front deep in the heart of the U district lies some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Not best Thai food...BEST FOOD. PERIOD. I’ve tried half the menu and everything is spectacular. My favorite is...well I can’t pick one but ANYTHING with their peanut sauce will cause boughts of euphoria. I visited Seattle for two days and went to Thai Tom twice. Yep. That’s how good it is.For folks complaining about the cramped space/wait times: are you actually serious? I can only assume there’s a wait because...*wait* for it...the food is incredible. And anyone who knows ANYTHING about food knows that the best places are hole in the wall types. Please flock to bigger, less crowded spaces so I can eat my cashew chicken and yellow curry in peace!
Portion sizes are smaller but flavor makes up for it. Meh, I'm fat anyway so its all good.
Great Thai place!•Food was good, not incredible, but good. •Prices were good. •Ambience was a busy, small hole in the wall place that is good at what they do.•They cranked out food pretty fast.
●CASH ONLY●This restaurant brings you back to Thailand! I like their Basil Chicken, Curry Chicken, Thai Ice Tea..etc. The quick fire cooking🔥is a must to see 😁 Cheap and delicious! It usually take 20 mins wait for seats. Expect a line waiting outside of the shop. Food serve fast.🥘
The food is very good although the cooks are over worked, which sometimes leads to burnt items. Space is cramped. Service is rude at times. Overtly pressured me to give more of a tip when I was low on money. Basically demanded it. Worth trying at least once though. Might be the best Thai food in Seattle.
GO HERE! this is my new favorite place to go every time I'm in Seattle, I'm going for a UX conference in March and you better believe I'll be stopping by again. Just so you know the seating is super limited so make sure you either go during odd hours or be willing to wait in line. Worth the wait.
Food was awesome. Service was lightning fast. Loved watching them cook from the bar seating. There aren't any tables larger than 3 people, so not the greatest for large groups. We had 6 and all sat at the bar, which was fine, but we got lucky there were that many seats available.
Great place, you can see how they put their heart to cook your food. Great food definitely come back with squad.
Best Thai food!!! Okay, so here is what you need to know before going. 1) CASH ONLY 2) Dress warm - The restaurant is the size of my bathroom, so you will be waiting outside. 3) It can get loud and cold if sitting by the door. If you want to be warm and have a conversation sit in the back away from the grill/door. It’s fun to watch them cook, so you have to sit at the grill at least once. And 4) NOT FOR PARTIES the most that can comfortably be seated as a party is 3. Careful not to drive past, can be tricky to spot... But you can thank me later when you try it (;
Did Not have a good experience. The basil chicken portion was waay too small. Not even enough for a child. It felt like eating just the white rice. When we called they said that's how they make that dish!
As many have said, best Thai in Seattle. Small and gets busy, won't work for groups. I love the garlic pepper, also the peanut sauce (rama) is the best anywhere. Everything I've had here is outstanding.
Three years ago, I was impressed by Thai Tom. It was the best Thai restaurant l ever had in USA. However, I visited again when I was in Seattle in 2018, I thought it was not amazing. This time, it was much more salty for fired rice and too sour for soup. It is not crowed during the lunch now. Cash only!
So good and vegan and not as spicy as I thought a 5 star spice would be but this tofu and cashew lit my fire. The chef is a total rockstar and the vibe is small and fast. Know what you want when you sit down though. The lines are sometimes 30 minutes. But allloooyyy Mack! (Thai for delicious)
After a long time had Tom yum soup and pad Thai shrimp. It was excellent!
Came here with my girlfriend on a Saturday night right about 5:30pm. Immediately got seated (we just beat the dinner rush) and my friend and I got our food very quick after we ordered! The food was amazing! They have plenty of vegetarian options and they’re so flavorful. For Seattle they are pretty cheap too- only thing is I wish the restaurant was bigger! They have about 5 2-person tables and a bar that faces their kitchen with about 8 stools for guests. With how popular they are, it normally is difficult to find seating. This is hands down the best Thai food in Washington so far. I will definitely make the 45 min trek into Seattle multiple times to return to this little gem.
The best Thai in the world and we don't say that lightly. We've been to Thailand 6 times and eaten all over that country. Thai Tom is the BEST Thai we've ever had. We go once a week!! It's a very small space, VERY authentic, and busy all the time. Before 7 and after 9 are best if you want to dine inside.
This place was a last minute discovery...and what a find it was! Thai Chicken Basil and some Tofu thing with Noodles. Both were VERY good and I'm pretty picky about my Thai food. The open kitchen concept was entertaining and they've got this process down. Cash only.
If you're looking for Sunday brunch, please stop searching and go to KYU in Wynwood. A neighborhood favorite, Kyu has been on our "to-eat" list for a long time, and they did not disappoint. Their French toast is the best French toast in Miami, in the South, possibly in the United States, periodt! The banana and bourbon paired perfectly with the French toast, as did the side of bacon we had. Afterwards, we ordered the King Crab Thai Fried Rice and it was a fantastic way to end our meal. If you're ever in Miami on a Sunday, please make a reservation at Kyu. You won't regret it and you'll want to go back. Not only do they have amazing food but their snacks and drinks were amazing. Such as their caramel popcorn which has a little kick to it. An amazing start to your dinner experience.
The line is long, but this is a perfect example of why you need to stay put. Aside from the display of fresh food prepared right in front you, the food is amazing. There's just handful of dishes to choose from. The portions are a good size to satisfy the average appetite. So good you'll eat the whole thing even if it does make you full. I bet leftovers are rare. The space is small so you're not likely to get a huge party in here. Maybe 3 people max. It's mostly bar space. It's where all the action is anyway.
If you are considering this place, please read the most recent reviews. This place seems to have dropped off in service and quality since covid or whatever. The staff doesn't talk much and they do not smile. The food is OK, but a bit sour and not much else. With so many good Thai restaurants on the Ave, THAI TOM is 3rd place at best. Try Little Thai or Jai Thai before this place.
The food is delicious yet cheap, the staff is kind and the service is fast and prompt.
I have never ordered the same thing twice, and I have never been disappointed! Always delicious no matter what you get! Today I got the yellow curry with chicken. Had the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. To start, I had the fried spring rolls. Also delicious! This is a must visit restaurant if you're ever in Seattle area!
You want the best thai food in town? Go here. 4 stars because they are cash only, so it's kinda inconvenient in the modern tech world.
It wasn't the same as it used to be. Prices went up which is just as competitive as other places. They only have chicken tofu or prawns now. Not sure if it was due to Covid or if they ran out. The lady who took the order didn't say much.
Had the chance to lunch there after waiting for 15 mins on a typical Saturday noon. The place is really small and feels little congested. I tried Tom Yum and Pad See Ew. Both of them tasted really great.
Thai Tom is one of the best Thai food places around. It is the epitomy of a hole in the wall, and seating is very intimate. You will most definitely have to wait to sit because it's always packed and there is always a line, but the chefs power through cooking everything in front of you so fast so the line goes fast. 100% worth the wait in line, portions are good, prices are normal and the atmosphere is always interesting.
Cash Only! - It's a small place that you can easily miss when walking down the busy university Ave. Ordered a to go of Deep Fried Tofu and Panag Curry with Tofu. Food was delicious. It'd have been better for the lady on the phone to give me a heads up that they're cash only business so that I could have get cash before I came to pickup the order. I was informed later, which made me go back to get some cash. The spcie was on point as I wanted with the curry and the Deep Fried Tofu came with peanut sauce in oil that was new and heavenly to munch on. If I get another chance, will try a new dish next time to see what surprises me.
Small cozy place. Very good Thai food. Indeed one of the best Pad Thai so far. We also tried Spicy Noodles and they were great. Overall good service. Highly recommended.
I absolutely love this place, but you need to understand what this place is when considering the reviews. This is NOT a fine dining restaurant. It is an excellent, high quality fast food dining option. The place is small and crowded, but cozy and friendly, from the staff to the clientel, mostly compromised of regulars. This should be on everyone's list of must-try restaurants.
There are six Thai places on this street, and this one has the best yellow curry out of all of them by a mile. The yellow curry is seriously amazing, with a variety of vegetables and mushrooms. The the dining room here is hot, loud, and VERY small, but the food is reasonably priced and very good
Literally favorite Thai in Seattle. Top dish is Thai Fried Rice by far but just had the Spicy Noodle at it was amazing. Just know it's super small and cozy and cash only!
I don’t know what happened to this place in the past 6 months but the Pad Thai was basically inedible. Burnt, dry, and served with rice? Unlike any experience I had in 2019. Not to mention our order was taken wrong over the phone. Will not be coming back.
Ordered two pad thai today. They were both completely inedible. Upon arriving home I discovered that one was so burnt the noodles were black. I'm SHOCKED someone looked at these and thought they were acceptable for a paying customer. The last two times I've been here, the noodles were slightly burnt but nowhere as bad as this. The other phad thai was also burnt and tasted like it was 5 star spiciness, not 2. I'm definitely not coming here again.
